Polish Sausage Potatoe Skillet

Ingredients
  • 1 package Polish Sausage or kielbasa sausage, sliced
  • 8 medium red potatoes, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1/2lb fresh green beans, broken into 1.5in pieces
  • 1/4 cup unpacked brownsugar
  • 1/2 cup applessauce
  • 1 T. mustard (i use bold and spicy kind)
  • 1 T. cider vinegar
  • 1/2t. thyme
  • 1 T. cooking oil
  • dash black pepper
Directions
  1. In a heavy fry pan with a lid heat oil on med/high and add onion, sausage and potatoes as you do your cutting.
  2. Add the sugar, applesauce, mustard, vinegar, thyme and pepper
  3. Stir and cover.  Stir again about every 5 minutes until potatoes are tender*roughly about 25minutes
  4. Remove cover and cook and stir at 5 mintute intervals until desired amount of browning occurs.
This sounds weird but it is so good!  It is a german polish kinda feel recipe.  Has good sweet taste and if you don't like sweet main dishes cut back on the brown sugar.
